TBN

by Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. 21. April 2009 12:59
On last night I was blessed to be a part of the Praise The Lord broadcast on TBN. What an incredible experience it was for me. One of the things that I realized is how many lives we can touch without knowing a person personally. I have received so many emails from people ACROSS THE WORLD who heard my testimony and talked of how it encouraged them. It reminds me of a little and probably overlooked verse in the story of Jesus stilling the storm in Mark chapter four. It was that "other little boats followed them". There are people watching you and listening to you as a believer. GOd has assigned them to your life to get an example from you on how to handle life with faith. Be careful how you handle your choices and your language and your dispositions because you never know who may be assigned to watch you in an effort to help themselves.

Resurrection Sunday

by Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. 13. April 2009 13:59

Resurrection Sunday was an incredible experience. I am always so amazed at how many people feel they can somehow be "made right with God" because they show up in droves on that one Sunday. If we really understood the power and impact of the risen Lord then we would know that EVERY SUNDAY is resurrection Sunday. The atmosphere was electric on yesterday. I had such a great time preaching the word of God. Easter is one of the hardest Sundays to preach. Everyone is there in their cute outfits and to be seen and not to worship. Yesterday though, the atmosphere for worship was just glorious. God was glorified and a harvest of souls came forward. THE LORD BE PRAISED!!!

For those of you who are ordering my book from off of this site, let me first thank you for the order. I should have the book within the next two weeks. I am so excited about it...and even more excited about the coming book about my surgery. The title of the book is "God's Got My Back". Look for it some time in the Fall.

Grace and Peace

PALM SUNDAY

by Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. 3. April 2009 04:57

Every since I was a little boy i well remember Palm Sunday. As is with so many other things in the church, we have added so many traditions and habits to this holy day that is is almost funny. We all come to church either wearing our Palms or looking for our palms because that is what the crowd threw down. Have you ever thought about the fact that this is the same crowd that Jesus cried over because they were shouting but had no clue who He really was? I just don't think that's a palm i want to wear. I know who He is.

None the less it is always a glorious day of worship. Even more so since for us it is also the day where we celebrate the Lord's Supper. I am looking forward to a blessed day. I seek your prayers as I have been sick since yesterday with a slight set back. As my Goddaughter, Nicole said to me, "perhaps you need to slow down" or my daughter Kiki put it in here Kiki way, "maybe daddy you need to slow down your world tour". I seek your prayers that I take my time and not overdue it.

Be in church on Sunday. Worship the Lord for all He has done for us and for our salvation.

WHAT A DAY

by Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. 1. April 2009 16:08

Well as you can tell from the time of this entry, yes Bishop is a serious night owl. For whatever reason I do my best thinking late at night. I have been this way since my college days and here i am some twenty-five years later with the same pattern. This was an incredible day of worship at Bethel. The anointing was just wonderful.

We now look forward to a glorious Palm Sunday. It is hard to believe that it is the Easter season already. Today is always a mixed emotion day for me. It is April Fool's day and many got me very good. This was also the birthday of my Uncle Vernon. He was one of my father's older brothers. I was very close to him growing up. I would go and visit with him for a couple of weeks in Manhattan every year all the way through college. This day always brings back to my mind Uncle Vernon. He was such a jovial person and would always keep you in stitches.

Thank you for all of your continued prayers as I still seek to get back to full speed. I know I may seem like I am, but trust me my back lets me know on a daily basis that I have a ways to go.

WHAT A WEEK

by Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick Jr. 1. April 2009 01:09

I feel like I have been on a whirlwind tour this week. If i didn't know I was definitely quickly on the mend, I know it now. I preached both of my services on Sunday and then in Tampa that evening and Miami on Monday. Now it is time for my favorite time, my Noonday worship. It is always such crazy energy in that worship. Persons come from various jobs; various cultures; various races. I think that is what the church should really look like. I a so blessed to be able to Pastor in a place like this.

On another note, I have proofed and approved the final draft of the book and it is on the presses as we speak. I am so excited about its release. I hope you will order the book right from this website. You can actually pre-order right now. Also look for sermons to be added to the site some time this weekend.
